Bucket List - August 2018 Report

THE AUGUST REPORT

Check out our insider scoop on what's going on

here on The Outer Banks in AUGUST!

You won't want to miss any of these hot

NEW events, businesses and experiences!

Go ahead and add them all to your OBX Bucket List!

HEALTH

We’re in full soccer training mode at our house and our oldest has been running miles at a time to get ready for the upcoming season. He’s inspired all of us to break out our running shoes and we love the Brindley Beach Vacations Lighthouse 5k Series with the OBX Running Company! You can’t beat the beauty of this course in Corolla and the finish line location is bucket list worthy on its own! Every Wednesday at 8am this race is even stroller friendly!

EVENT

Surfing for Autism is an incredible local event that encourages individuals with autism to try something new and we absolutely love this event and everything that they stand for. Individuals with autism can catch some waves with some amazing local surfers! With more activities on the sand, there is something to entertain the entire family! This event begins at 8:30am on August 11th at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head!

ART

The Dare County Arts Council presents the New World Festival of the Arts in Manteo on August 15th. You won’t want to miss this awesome art show with tons of local vendors. Beginning at 10:00am you can find local pottery, jewelry, paintings and so much more!

SHOP

Dare I say it? August means BACK to SCHOOL. Sorry, kiddos! Check out all the back to school styles for all ages at WRV in Kitty Hawk. We love that you can shop for your entire family in one store, from babies to big kids, they’re the perfect spot for your back to school shopping!

EAT

Jersey Mike’s is officially OPEN in Southern Shores. Jersey Mike’s may not sound like a local name but the owners are year-round locals who embody the Little Beach, Big Heart vibe that we love! They’re constantly giving back to our community and the kids here while slinging delicious sandwiches! We’re stoked for a place to grab food after evening soccer games and being able to have a quick dinner during the school year hustle! You can find them in the Southern Shores Marketplace near Starbucks!

PLAY

Game and Climb Tuesdays at Waves Village Watersports is the perfect way to spend your Tuesday whether you are here on vacation or live here year-round! Family game night begins at 5:00pm every Tuesday followed by BOGO climbs on their adventure tower! Be sure to check out this awesome event at the Waves Village Watersports Resort!

STAY

The See Sea Motel is the cutest and newest place to stay on the Outer Banks! We love these newly renovated surf villas! Located just a stones throw from the beach and within walking distance of some of the best restaurants that Kill Devil Hills has to offer, the location of the SeeSea is top notch!

There is seriously so much going on on the Outer Banks in August that you might just want to stay an extra week! Go ahead, you know you want to! Fewh!
