THE MAY REPORT

Check out our insider scoop on what's going on

here on The Outer Banks in MAY!

You won't want to miss any of these hot

NEW events, businesses and experiences!

Go ahead and add them all to your OBX Bucket List!

HEALTH

Sea Core is the best new workout on the beach. Angelique was the first to bring the Pilates Reformer to the beach and her expertise is unmatched. She is also offering multiple barre classes that will leave your legs and hiney feeling beach ready! I can personally attest to how amazing the reformer is as Angelique has taught me how to workout while being mindful of my core. Checkout one of her classes, you won't be disappointed!

EVENT

This unique event is the first of many events that I hope to have in the annual rotation here on the Outer Banks. With a motto of “More Laughter and Less Litter” we are working together with local businesses like Twiddy Realty, Resort Realty, Surf Pediatrics, The Outer Banks Wedding Association, Pizza Stop, 1587 Restaurant and Exhale Massage to bring a fashion show to the runway at the Outer Banks Brewing Station. Our new date for this trash-inspired show is May 17th at 5:30pm. Join us there with just a $5 donation to the NC Coastal Federation at the door.

ART

The Dare County Arts Council is hosting the 30th Annual Artrageous event at Dowdy Park on May 11th. This free event begins at 10:00am and includes tons of opportunities for children of all ages to be creative and enjoy the park. Local artists and vendors will also be set up for sales and to inspire the artist in all of us. I’ll be there too with a craft booth! Come by and say hello while we celebrate a big, bright, beautiful world!

SHOP

This charming storefront in Kill Devil Hills is a new go-to spot for locals. We love this store for the style and for their price-point! With a unique look to every piece, Honey and Hive has something to offer everyone. Whether you are looking to treat yourself to a new vacation outfit, cute accessories for the season or you need a flirty piece for date night, you can find it all at the Hive!

EAT

Located in Corolla in the XXX, Low Tide Bar & Grill should be on the top of your list of places to visit while your on vacation or if you’re looking for a great new date night spot. Opening on XXX, you can expect amazing culinary creations with a low country meets island twist. A quick peek at their Facebook page had me reaching for my car keys to sneak to Corolla for Zoodles (zuchini noodles) and Shrimp or a Pickle Brined Chicken Sandwich. Did we mention that they have added Surfin’ Spoon cookie sandwiches to their dessert menu? Are you hungry yet?

PLAY

Grab your tickets and join the best dressed on the beach for Couture by the Shore, a fashion show that benefits the Outer Banks Relief Foundation. Tickets should be purchased in advance and your admission includes lunch, beverages and a fashion show that showcases the best local styles available. This incredible event has helped over 700 local citizens since 2005!

STAY

Built from the rich history that surrounds the Village of Corolla, this brand new Inn is sure to blow you away. This newly constructed Inn is set to open on May 10th but is already accepting reservations. We’re swooning over the beautiful design and attention to detail but the true beauty is in the history that was brought back into the construction. They have added little details like incorporating bricks from the original Currituck lighthouse to the new fireplace in the lobby and let the historic village inspire their design. With 12 suites, some dedicated as pet-friendly rooms, you will find all the comforts of home when you arrive at the Corolla Village Inn.
